Sleep is a very important part of anyone’s day

Sleep is a very important part of anyone’s day.  It allows us to replenish lost energy.  It boosts our immunity to disease.  It even helps us consolidate and organize memory, and makes us operate more efficiently.  For sleep to work at its full potential, however, the quality of sleep as well as the quantity is of the highest importance.  And right now, 8 in 10 people across the world don’t get the sleep they need to perform at their best.  Traditional innerspring mattresses are somewhat to blame, as they simply don’t give you enough support and comfort while you sleep.

Luckily, visco elastic or “memory” foam has been applied to the home mattress industry to provide you with the best night’s sleep possible.  Developed by NASA in the 1970’s, memory foam is specifically engineered to support and accommodate a body as it is being pressed upon by extreme g-forces.  Think “rocket takeoff.”  Memory foam kept astronauts comfortable as they were blasted into space; imagine what it can do for you and your sleep!

The secret is in the polyurethane memory foam.  This ultra dense material is characterized by its thermo-reactive qualities, meaning that it responds to body heat.  Rigid and firm when cool, memory foam softens as heat is applied.  When your warm body lies down on a memory foam mattress, within minutes the bed will mold perfectly to the contours of your body, delivering the ultimate customized, personalized sleep experience.  The thermo-reactive qualities of the mattress also allow the bed to self-insulate, meaning it will keep you warm while you snooze.

Another useful aspect of a memory foam mattress is its tendency to limit motion transfer.  Vibrations and movements on one side of the bed simply don’t carry to the other; any motions you or your partner make will be absorbed by the bed, so the other’s sleep won’t be disturbed.  Traditional innerspring mattresses, however, tend to increase the effects of motion through the springs.  On your old mattress, you’ve probably found that you can’t roll around without waking your partner up, and vice versa.  But memory foam resolves this issue: imagine never being awakened in the middle of the night by a restless partner again!

Memory foam lasts a lot longer than innerspring mattresses as well, largely on account of its “rebound” effect.  While innerspring mattresses tend to sag in the middle over time (often called the “hammock effect”), a memory foam mattress will rebound to its original shape within moments of leaving the bed.  Because a memory foam mattress can retain its original shape, it will last at least twice as long as an ordinary innerspring mattress!

But perhaps the most important aspect of a memory foam mattress is its orthopedic health benefit.  While traditional mattresses tend to push against your body, putting pressure on your pressure-sensitive areas such as your shoulders and hips, a memory foam mattress accommodates these areas and distributes your weight for optimal orthopedic alignment.  A memory foam mattress ensures that, whether you sleep on your back, side, or stomach, your spine will be properly aligned and your body will maintain perfect, orthopedic posture.  This allows you the most comfortable, tossing-and-turning free night imaginable!  This much support and comfort really makes every hour of sleep count.

Another health benefit of a memory foam mattress is its hypoallergenic quality.  Most memory foam mattresses, especially those produced in the United States, are anti-bacterial and anti-pollutant, so you don’t have to worry about breathing in harmful allergens.  Memory foam mattresses also get rid of dust mites.  While your innerspring mattress might be a popular hangout for bedbugs, they simply can’t survive or nest in a memory foam mattresses.  Don’t let the bed bugs bite – ever again!

An important note:

When you’re looking for a memory foam mattress, be sure you order American.  Many memory foam mattresses manufactured overseas simply do not adhere to the strict quality and health regulations that American-made products do.  Mattresses produced elsewhere are often cured with formaldehyde and other potentially dangerous chemicals and possible allergens.  Memory foam mattresses made in the U.S. are always non-toxic and safe, produced under the American standard of quality that you can trust.

With modern manufacturing technologies, memory foam mattresses are more affordable than ever; so look into one today, and invest in your health and quality sleep for years to come!
